Vision
The Vision for the Monash Division is to be "Recognised as a leader in increasing the effectiveness of general practice".
Mission The Mission for the Monash Division is to continuously improve the quality of primary health care by providing support to GPs and GP practices, and by strengthening collaboration with other health services. This will be achieved by:
Continuing professional development
Peer support
Practice-based support
Assisting general practices to respond to government initiatives
Identifying and responding to changing local community health needs
Representation at local health forums

Membership & Population Profile
As at June 2006, Monash Division's membership totalled 281 GPs, 132 of whom practice within the Division's postcodes in 58 practices.
The Division's population was confirmed at 131,710 in the 2001 Census. (Data for the 2006 Census has not yet been released). The population characteristics are as follows:

There is no membership fee but some services and practice support activities funded through the Division's key programs, are limited to members practising within Divisional boundaries. All members receive the monthly Divisional newsletter and are welcome to attend CPD actvities.
Integration The Division has established strong links with the local hospital network and community health centres. Divisions in the Southern Metropolitan Region meet regularly to discuss regional approaches to local health issues and meet with representatives of Southern Health to provide GP input and perspective to hospital planning initiatives.
Annual Report
The Monash Division produces an Annual Report for members which in addition to outlining major Divisional achievements during the year, provides a detailed Audited Financial Statement Report.
